Every year, the Cadet Scoutmasters' Council at West Point hosts a camporee at Lake Frederick for approximately 6,000 scouts from more than 200 different Boy and Girl Scout troops from across the country. Museum volunteers take our show on the road there every year, on the first weekend in May. Many artifacts which are not always on display in the Museum are displayed at the Academy, including a rare complete set of all 54 years of West Point Camporee neckerchiefs and patches. The camporee is very popular and typically can only accommodate about half of the troops who apply for participation in at this by-invitation-only event. For more information, visit USMA West Point Camporee Information.

The Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is an annual Scouting event that uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, around the nation, and in our own community. This worldwide jamboree requires you to travel locally only as far as Camp Carpenter, in order to travel the airwaves worldwide. Members of the Granite State Amateur Radio Association build stations that highlight many different wireless communication methods, and give scouts a hands-on experience with the excitement and benefits of Amateur (Ham) Radio. for more information, contact administrator@scoutingmuseum.org

The 31st annual Boy Scout Memorabilia Show, sponsored by Daniel Webster Council BSA, is one of the most popular shows in the country. The Show sells out each year with 100 tables of memorabilia on display for sale, trade or show. Reminisce from your scouting days as a youth or leader, or instill the preservation of Scouting heritage in future generations. The show brings together collectors of Scouting artifacts and memorabilia from all over the country at Camp Carpenter for two days of fun and fellowship. Collectors' exhibit tables are available for a fee. Lodging is available at the camp and there are several hotels within three miles of the camp. Concessions are available during the event. Advance registration is suggested to avoid a sellout or to part-take in the traditional Lobster Fest on Friday Night. For more information contact greg.anthony@scouting.org.
